Project Overview
Chengdu Mengsheng Electronics is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in advanced satellite terminal solutions, integrating R&D, production, sales, and technical services. Located in Chengdu Science City, Tianfu New Area, adjacent to Xinglong Lake, the project forms a high-tech campus harmoniously integrated with natural landscapes. The main office and R&D building features a clustered modern curtain wall design, with interlocking cubic volumes creating a dynamic interplay of solid and void. This architectural approach delivers a unified yet visually engaging façade while incorporating multi-level shared atriums to enrich spatial experiences.

Central Lobby Area

The 10-story atrium lobby offers panoramic views through glass façades on three sides, visible from the campus entrance. The exterior horizontally layered curtain wall transitions into a minimalist point-fixed glazing system indoors, establishing a futuristic aesthetic.

Design Intervention Highlights:

• Linear lighting on side walls mirrors the building’s horizontal façade lines, creating a "technological matrix" effect through reflections—symbolizing limitless innovation.
• A glass-and-metal entrance portal extends indoors to frame escalators leading to B1 parking, maintaining axial symmetry.
• An integrated reception desk anchors the portal wall, fulfilling core functional needs.
• A suspended cube-shaped LED display atop the portal serves as an information hub, vertically connecting the lobby’s focal elements (reception, logo wall, and lighting installations).

Open-Air Library

A two-story annex in the west wing hosts conference and training facilities. We transformed circulation areas around an interconnecting staircase into an open-plan library, incorporating:

• Collaborative zones
• Meeting pre-function spaces
• Breakout areas with refreshment stations

Four-Seasons Hall (1-1# Building)

This northwest corner space spans floors 2–10 with interconnected staircases, offering views of Xinglong Lake. We integrated:

• Timber-grilled suspended meeting pods with lake vistas
• Reconfigured staircases for efficient vertical circulation
• Flexible workspaces, lounge seating, and informal collaboration zones
  The neutral palette highlights the architectural form, while the ascending timber staircases embody Mengsheng’s pursuit of technological advancement.

Landscape ‘Light Corridor’

The top-floor north section features premium client reception areas with panoramic lake views. To enhance visitor flow from the south-core VIP elevators, we added a ceremonial light corridor crossing a central atrium. This passage alternates artificial and natural illumination, creating evolving spatial dynamics throughout the day.

Design Philosophy

The interior extends the building’s language of simplicity, order, and recombinable forms. By limiting material variations and embracing intentional "visual white space," we ensured adaptability for future functional shifts. The project maintained strict budget control while achieving high construction precision through full-scale onsite design coordination.
